Salary: R38000 - R45000 Depending on Qualifications and Experience
Description: Sales Manager vacancy for a self-motivated person with at least 5 years sales management experience. Experience in a chemical and manufacturing field will be an advantage. Knowledge of essential oils will also be highly beneficial.

You will be required to plan and implement sales activities in order to meet company targets for retention growth and profitability, while managing the sales staff to achieve customer service objectives and sales volumes.

Qualifications:
• Grade 12 plus Sales & Marketing Degree / Diploma
• Chemistry or chemical engineering degree/experience will be an advantage

Experience required:
• 5 years sales management experience
• Experience in the chemical and manufacturing field
• African travel

Key performance areas:

1. Sales
• Establish sales objectives by forecasting and projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products
• Setting of sales targets
• Manage and lead sales team
• Implements national sales programs by developing field sales action plans
• Drive sales in order to achieve set sales targets
• Control selling prices and cost prices
• Scheduling and assigning employees for client visits
• Maintain sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand
• Formulate sales reports
• Sales administration such as developing a filing system on all clients
• Keeping sales data
• Provide technical direction
• Remain up-to-date with point of sale information, stock availability, price strategies, and long-term negotiated activity while keeping the team updated on all issues

2. Finance
• Establishes and adjusts selling prices by monitoring costs, competitive market prices, and supply and demand
• Set and manage departmental budgets
• Forecasting and projecting sales volumes
• Liaise with finance department re invoicing, credit notes and stock

3. Human Resource Management
• Performance management
• Maintains national sales staff job results by counselling and disciplining employees
• Ensure team has tools required to fulfil on job requirements

• Maintain employee disciplines
• Ensure compliance with relevant legal and statutory requirements and internationally accepted environmental, health, safety and quality standards

4. Customer relationship management
• Regularly review customer service levels with key customers
• Ensure good relationship with clients
• Liaise with production and logistics re customer service

6. Meetings
• Conduct weekly sales meetings
• Present information available from other departments to the sales team to improve understanding, performance and the achievement of objectives
• Ensure sales team is briefed on key points at monthly meetings

7. Reports and documents
• Complete weekly sales reports with actions and objectives
• Forward all reports to management
• Observe trade actions and record on a standard template for monthly meeting
