Description: The Snr Strategic Planner will take on the role of consumer advocate in a creative company. Driving towards gaining and attaining key insights and gaps for brands to occupy that will allow them to connect with consumers. To bring strategic value into every interaction, brief, facilitation and operation. Ultimately, an interpreter between clients and creative talent, who navigate all the facts and observations to distil them into a solid strategic positioning or point of departure. Communication: To add strategic planning input onto the accounts as a key member of the account team by living the clients' product/brand/company which can be achieved through desk research, interviews, visits and field research To deliver superior communications strategies, creative briefing and approaches to ensure that those clients benefit commercially from effective communication (will be measure via Apex) Actively participate in new business pitches and business development when required and assisting from start to presentation stage Business Intelligence: To constantly search for fresh business and consumer insights in order to deliver fresh (disruptive) thinking To stay abreast of macro, marketing / advertising, consumer and category trends, package and share it internally with other departments and externally with clients To effectively utilize the company network to gain global insights Disruption & Media Arts: To continually implement and practice Disruption and Media Arts when developing communication strategies and writing creative playground briefs To act as a facilitator for the above, providing training and assistance to account teams as and when required People: To build strong relationships both internally across departments and externally with client in order to raise the profile of strategic planning To use resources from other teams productively to maximize service for the client and income for the business Create clear development plans for yourself and support the development of others
General Requirements: Requirements: Analytic ability to mine information, data and insights and identify gaps in industry, communications and consumer needs Story teller Deep Human insight and understanding Creativity & strategic (Hybrid thinker/ left and right brain aligned) Understanding of the south African landscape from a macro and micro economic perspective Business acumen to interpret client business problems in order to build a creative resolve Ability to build and facilitate workshops with clients and partner agencies Strong Presentation and interpersonal skills (To manage client and team expectations) Presentation design (PowerPoint/ Keynote ability) Primary research such as creating and hosting focus groups and insights gatherings, both consumer and client related. Ability to mentor and develop junior strategists Strong Logic Ability to construct a sound argument and case Writing and articulation Contact:
